I would like to take this opportunity to announce the First Annual Eye Myth Film Festival which will take place June 23 – 24 2017 @ Cinecycle in Toronto, Ontario.
This festival will be geared towards experimental films, art films, and video essays. We are also accepting non-genre narrative films.
Accepted filmmakers can except as much coverage as we can give including promotion on social media and interviews on this site with select artists. Local filmmakers can expect free admission to the festival and the opportunity to give a Q&A after their screening. The show will take place in the evenings with reasonably priced tickets available at the door.
The festival will run for approximately 3 hours each night starting at 8pm with a 20 minute intermission at the half-way point.. Depending on the length of the submissions I receive we can expect to screen between 10 – 30 films for the duration.
Eye Myth will be seeking sponsorships in the months prior to the event, as well as media coverage.
Cinecycle is a historic venue in the heart of downtown Toronto which frequently features programming from PleasureDome, an “exhibition collective dedicated to the presentation of Artists moving images”. I myself saw a sensational exhibition of experimental work there a few years ago. We will be purchasing a liquor licence in order to serve at the venue.
Cinecycle has been around forever and perfectly expresses the feel of our film festival – a little unpolished but passionate & deeply genuine.
